This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Sewing Training Program at BPVP Samarinda in improving the skills and economic independence of the community, focusing on the process of planning, implementing, evaluating, and impacting the training on participants. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving BPVP organizers, instructors, and trainees. Data analysis uses the Miles & Huberman model which includes data condensation, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and verification through triangulation and member checking. Coding is carried out deductively based on the concept of Competency-Based Training (CBT), andragogy theory, and motivation theory (Maslow), then enriched inductively until a stable category is obtained. The results of the study show that the training plan has been prepared based on SKKNI and local needs, so that the curriculum is relevant to the skills needed by the community. The implementation of the training reflects the application of CBT and andragogy principles through the dominance of practice, individual guidance, demonstration of work steps, and adjustment of instructor strategies to the characteristics of adult participants. The evaluation was carried out in a formative and summative manner, showing that most of the participants were able to achieve the targeted competencies. The impact of training can be seen in increasing technical skills, confidence, changes in career orientation, and the growth of the home sewing business as a form of economic independence. The research also found the need to strengthen supporting facilities, increase business literacy, and collaborate with industry and digital platforms to expand business opportunities. This study confirms that sewing training at BPVP Samarinda makes a real contribution to the economic empowerment of the community, but the sustainability of its impact requires continued support from training institutions and external partners.
