ANALISIS NARATOR DAN FOKALISATOR DALAM NOVEL JAIS DARGA NAMAKU KARYA AHDA IMRAN

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the narrator and focalizer in the novel Jais Darga Namaku by Ahda Imran based on Mieke Bal's narratology theory. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical method. The research data are in the form of narrative units that reflect the presence and work of the narrator in the text. Data analysis is carried out by identifying the type of narrator, the level of storytelling, and the narrative point of view as formulated by Mieke Bal. The results of the study show that the novel Jais Darga Namaku is dominated by a character-bound narrator who is directly involved in the story's events, so that the storytelling is subjective and psychologically intense. The narrator not only functions as a conveyor of events, but also as a subject who interprets experiences, builds emotional closeness with the reader, and influences the meaning of the conflict and character development. Thus, the narrator plays a strategic role in shaping the narrative and ideological structure of the novel. These findings confirm the relevance of Mieke Bal's narratology theory in revealing the complexity of storytelling and contributing to the study of narratology in Indonesian literary research.
