PENGARUH VIDEO ANIMASI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN SISWA SMP KELAS VII DALAM MENULIS TEKS CERITA FABEL

This study aims to examine the effect of using animated videos on the ability of junior high school students to write fable story texts. The background of the study is based on students' low performance in writing fables. Animated videos were selected as an engaging and interactive learning medium to enhance students’ interest and writing skills. The research employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental Design, specifically the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, involving a single group without a control class. The data consisted of students’ writing scores from pretests and posttests. Data analysis techniques included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing, conducted using the SPSS software. The results of the normality test showed significance values of 0.092 (pretest) and 0.071 (posttest), indicating that the data were normally distributed. The homogeneity test yielded a significance value of 0.965, confirming that the data were homogeneous. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Independent Sample T-Test. The pretest mean score was 67.66, while the posttest mean score increased to 80.47. The statistical results led to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that animated videos have a significant positive effect on the writing ability of seventh-grade students in composing fable story texts.
